Metabolism is a way for our body to convert the calories from the food that we eat into energy. Our metabolism slows down with aging. We can raise our metabolism by doing moderate aerobic training. It helps our body by burning more calories.

For those who are too busy to go for aerobic training, every movement helps in burning calories.
For example, if you are going to the supermarket that is 10 minutes from your house why not just walk there. Walking is a good exercise. Climbing the stairs also helps but do not strain yourself.

We should also not skip the most important meal of the day that is breakfast. Breakfast aid in weightloss also. Having a balance in breakfast is very important.Eating half a grapefruit before a meal aids in weight loss.Eating smaller servings, on a frequent basis, helps to keep the metabolic rate constantly heightened, and helps to stabilize blood sugar levels.

A constantly stimulated metabolism means fat-burning over a longer period. Drink plenty of water to detoxify. At least eight glasses.

Lastly get at least six to eight hours of sleep. Lack of sleep will leave you hungry. Remember the metabolism slows down during inactivity. Eating late or in the middle of the night will require your body to work at burning or storing calories. Avoiding late night suppers so as to wakieu up more refreshed & rested. If you have to eat late, eat little & choose carefully!

Metabolism is a very important factor in weight loss. Sluggish metabolism do not help. So in order to lose more weight we need to boost our metabolism.
